Two of the most well-known composers of the Classical Period are featured by Maestro Olivier Ochanine and the Sun Symphony Orchestra. Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 100 “Military” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 will have listeners at the edge of their seat.

Continuing our ever so popular SSO Education Series Concerts the Sun Symphony Orchestra explores the exoticism of the East with a program including the Aladdin Suite by Danish composer Carl Nielsen and also featuring the đàn bầu played by Nguyễn Cao Vũ who will perform “Đối thoại” by Vietnamese composer Đỗ Hồng Quân.
The Beethoven Septet in Eb Major, op.20 was one of the composer’s most popular works during his lifetime. Composed when he was only 30 years old it is written for a mixed ensemble of strings and woodwinds. Come hear members of the SSO perform this famous work that had followed Beethoven throughout his lifetime.

The Sun Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Olivier Ochanine present the SSO’s Education Series Concert No. 5 featuring Lại Thị Hương Ly (soprano) and Nguyễn Mạnh Hoạch (tenor). The concert begins with Austrian composer Johann Strauss "II’s Overture to Die Fledermaus" and continues with selections from operas of Georges Bizet, Giacoma Puccini, Giuseppi Verdi.

The program begins with the dramatic Ruy Blas Overture of the prodigious German composer, Felix Mendelssohn. Chopin's beautiful Piano Concerto No. 1 in e minor is the final piece he performed before fleeing his beloved Poland.
