Two of the most well-known composers of the Classical Period are featured by Maestro Olivier Ochanine and the Sun Symphony Orchestra. Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 100 “Military” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 will have listeners at the edge of their seat.

The mystical sounds of the night come to awaken the senses in this evening’s concert. Mozart’s Serenade for Winds in C minor is defiantly dark in character while Schoenberg’s Verklarte Nacht introduces you to a world that many have not been to before. When night has fallen anything can happen.

Educational Series Concert – Love, Longing and Beauty
Continuing our ever so popular SSO Education Series Concerts the Sun Symphony Orchestra explores the exoticism of the East with a program including the Aladdin Suite by Danish composer Carl Nielsen and also featuring the đàn bầu played by Nguyễn Cao Vũ who will perform “Đối thoại” by Vietnamese composer Đỗ Hồng Quân.
Beethoven the Master
The Beethoven Septet in Eb Major, op.20 was one of the composer’s most popular works during his lifetime. Composed when he was only 30 years old it is written for a mixed ensemble of strings and woodwinds. Come hear members of the SSO perform this famous work that had followed Beethoven throughout his lifetime.
THE EMPEROR
The talented Spanish pianist, Ivan Martin performs the iconic masterpiece, Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” by Ludwig van Beethoven. Other works on the program include Wagner’s Prelude to Die Meistersinger and the beautiful symphonic poem Les Preludes of Liszt.

THIBAUDET PLAYS SAINT-SAENS – SEASON OPENING GALA
The Season Opening Gala Concert is an all French program featuring the return of famous pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Come listen to him dazzle you with Saint- Saën’s magnificent Piano Concerto No. 5 , “The Egyptian”.
