The talented Spanish pianist, Ivan Martin performs the iconic masterpiece, Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” by Ludwig van Beethoven. Other works on the program include Wagner’s Prelude to Die Meistersinger and the beautiful symphonic poem Les Preludes of Liszt.
The Season Opening Gala Concert is an all French program featuring the return of famous pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Come listen to him dazzle you with Saint- Saën’s magnificent Piano Concerto No. 5 , “The Egyptian”.
Danish/American cellist Jonathan Algot-Swensen perfoms the exquisite Rococo Variations while the evening concludes with the heart wrenching Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”. This is Tchaikovsky at his best.
