This concert is about how love enters us through listening. Through the intimacy and fragility of Fauré, Massenet, Shostakovich to the obsession and emotional force of Tchaikovsky, we immerse ourselves in transformation and release of Stravinsky’s Firebird. At our concert, love is not seen first — it is heard. And once heard, it cannot be unheard.

Spring is the season of leisurely living, and nothing is more elegant than letting the soul wander into the enchanting realms of music. On March 20, the SSO invites its musical confidants to return to the concert hall and open Spring Awakening - a program celebrating renewal, light, and the revitalizing energy of nature.

The programme traces a compelling musical journey from the Nordic imagination of Sibelius - rich with mystery, lyricism, and expressive string writing — to the monumental force of Beethoven’s Eroica. Moving from intimate color to symphonic heroism, the evening promises both refinement and grandeur, ending with one of the most transformative works in the orchestral repertoire.

From Schubert's graceful lyricism to Schumann's majestic portrait of the Rhine, this program unfolds an evocative journey through the heart of German Romanticism. Each work captures a different facet of youth, nature, and the boundless spirit of artistic aspiration.

Music rarely develops in isolation. Every generation of composers inherits traditions from the past while seeking a voice of its own. Tonight’s programme traces an extraordinary musical journey across two continents and three generations, following a line of influence from Johannes Brahms to Antonín Dvořák and ultimately to Charles Ives.
